Walking and cycling

The Haute Marne is a wonderful place for walking and cycling. Take a walk through forests, valleys and discover rushing streams and picturesque villages. We have various routes ready for you.

For the relaxed cyclist, there are the converted railway tracks to discover for example the Lac du Der. Or seek out the challenge of the sloping countryside with an occasional tough climb.  

Lac Du Der

The Lac du Der is a short drive from our Chambres d'Hôtes and provides new activities in every season. Throughout the year you can enjoy walking and cycling. On hot summer days the swimming beaches and various water sports opportunities provide the necessary cooling and in autumn the cranes provide an unforgettable spectacle.

Champagne - Côte des Bar

The Côte des Bar has been an appellation controlée since 1927. The numerous champagne houses can be discovered via a more than 200 km long Route Touristique du Champagne. Discover the picturesque villages situated between the vineyards and visit one of the many producers to taste champagne and take a some back home.

Castles and Gardens

 A number of castles and gardens await your visit in the vicinity of Les Hirondelles. In Joinville you can visit the castle Le Grand Jardin with its Renaissance gardens or visit the castle of Cirey-sur-Blaise where famous writer Voltaire stayed from 1734 to 1749.  A visit to the gardens of Mon Moulin in Thonnance-lès-Joinville is certainly not to be missed. This garden is in the top 10 of French gardens and offers numerous themed gardens.

Amusementparc Nigloland

At 30 minutes from "Les Hirondelles" is amusement park Nigloland. With 39 attractions and shows fun guaranteed for young and old.
